Lay a clove of garlic flat onto the chopping board
Lay the flat side of a large kitchen knife flat onto it. Put the heel of your non dominant hand on top and as you hold the handle, press the blade onto the clove. You should hear and feel it pop, or squash.
The papery skin will have burst and you can just slide the clove out, or something you have to cut through the root.
Just ease it out and there you go 🙂
